I peeked around the corner to make sure my daughter wasn’t anywhere in sight. Good, still in her room. So I did it. I pinched the side points off all of them and ATE THEM TOO! They were very tasty indeed. Then I smoothed and patted them all around eliminating all the rough spots. They looked a little stumpy, but at least now they were all the same size. I smiled to myself and slid them into the oven. While they baked, I contemplated the chances of getting busted by the “Fairness Sheriff”, the girl with invisible measuring devices located in her eyeballs to spot any unjust portions. When they were done I frosted them - why is there never enough frosting? So . . . dinner, then desert and guess what - she never noticed!!! YeeeHaaaawwww! Slipped that one right past her!!! Oh yeah, go Mom, go Mom, go Mom! Not much guilt either, mostly a naughty delight that I’d gotten away with it!! Someday I’m sure I’ll tell her, probably when she pulls the sneak on her kids and gets away with it. This is information best shared with peers, not teenagers.
I took an extra few minutes this morning while walking my dog, to enjoy the blooming Wisteria in the parking lot nearby. Mmmm, mmm, gorgeous! Bright lavender, blossoms as long as my forearm and hand, cascading over the trellis and down the supports to the ground. They hung heavy over the orange, yellow and bright red Poppies. It was the kind of site you just have to stop, sit down and take in. Beautiful sparkling, spring sunshine, AWE-SOME flowers, heavy with scent and my best-est furry friend for company. She likes to sit beside me and look at flowers too. She even smiles up at me.
