We’re especially glad she didn’t turn into a prince (yes, there were kisses involved – a long time ago and when no one was looking).
One year ago I found her outside in the cold and dark, trying to hide from dogs and cars, she was scared. When we picked her up she hissed at us and peed on us. Now – wow, what a change. No more hissing, no more peeing to scare us off. She likes us and enjoys our company. I’m sure you probably think I’m nuts. But this little Toad, this little person is incredible. She has personality, she has attitude and she has preferences. She likes to be held, she likes to be included. I have even seen her pout when she didn’t get her way – it’s true! She has a morning sleepy face, a Grinch face, a “hunting crickets” focus face, a curious face, a “hey here I am look at me face”, and an “OK, I want to be held now please” face – all of them different. She strategizes and thinks. She taps the long toes on her back feet when she is contemplating the best speed and direction of approach to suspecting crickets. She even wipes her mouth when she finishes eating. Buntah is a joy! We are so happy to have her with us.
