Is it EVERY woman’s fantasy? It’s not mine. Of course the idea of having a seductively handsome multimillionaire fall for you in a major way and lavish cars, clothes, the best food and a personal trainer on you is appealing. In that regard, the author delivers. Cha ching. For the females, the element of ‘saving your man from himself or healing him from some horrific past’ is also there. Again, on this thread, the author delivers, Cha ching, Cha ching. And while it may be appealing to most women to have her man dominate in the bedroom, I don’t believe the majority of us fantasize about being whipped, beaten and tortured into submission. I don’t believe we fantasize about living our daily lives according to the dictates of our man either. We like choosing our own clothes, our own friends and our own schedules. I don’t think the majority of us fantasize about binding ourselves to our man’s strict rules of personal conduct with severe punishment awaiting any minor infraction of his said rules. And we don’t fantasize about being stalked and spied on. Really people, being stalked is not a turn-on. It’s creepy. For the woman who determines her value and worth by her ability to please her man at all costs to herself (yes, these women are out there and a lot of them are our young daughters!), this book is definitely a danger to her personal well-being. On the whole, I found the book more disturbing than anything. I found it incongruent with my nature, sexual and otherwise.
Is it a book EVERY man should read? No. As a matter of fact, I can see how this book, in the hands of the wrong men, can be very dangerous. There are men who already twist their perception of what they think women want and will gladly adhere to any ‘justification’ for their sexual misconduct against women. This book has just such ‘justification’ potential. The idea of this book being accepted as the ‘norm’ by our teenagers – male or female, who are already highly sexually charged and looking to understand sex and it’s place in their lives, is down-right alarming to me. This is not a book for a sexual novice.
For this book to be touted by anyone as every woman’s fantasy and THE book every man should read, is socially irresponsible. It is a book for persons with a Dominant/Submissive, Sadomasochist preference.
