Christmas was pleasant. Pip and I didn't make ourselves crazy over Christmas cookies this year and decided to do only stockings for each other and keep our spending $$ for the sales after Christmas. Sweet girl filled my stocking with my favorite chocolate (Ghiradelli dark chocolate peppermint bark) and she gave me five books by my favorite author as well. I filled her stocking with socks (she has a thing for socks) and her favorite chocolate - two books too. We enjoyed our time off from the world immensely. Saw "The Hobbit", "Argo" and "Lincoln". Loved The Hobbit so much we went back three more times. Richard Armitage, the actor playing Thorin Oakenshield, is the new household crush, Pip is completely obsessed. Argo, from just 30 minutes in, was one intense knuckle biter all the way through to the end.- whew! Daniel Day Lewis turned in another award winning performance as Lincoln, his performance alone was worth watching the movie for. However, we didn't learn anything we didn't already know. If you know your history, there were no surprises.
Not a lot knew going on. I'm still feeling burned-out but have decided to try and ignore it. Piper is gearing up for her last few months of high school, she doesn't have any solid plans for the future yet and is tired of people asking her about it. Have to say I don't blame her, I'm kind of tired of the question too. Ginger is slowing down a bit which makes me sad and Buntah, wellllll, Buntah is BUNTAH. She got mad at me this morning because I had to put her down before SHE was ready for me to. She turned her back on me when I tried to say Good-bye before leaving - little stinker!
I've started writing a new novel. I like this story line, love the characters in my head, hope I can do them more than justice on paper. It's a genre I've never tried before, lots of research to do. I'm excited about it though.
Ah, the little guy I babysit is waking up, time for blogging today is over.
